As summer begins to wind down, and school lurks around the corner, there is a growing sense of excitement around SBSEF. While winter may still feel a long way off, our athletes and coaches are already putting in the work—building strength, developing good habits, setting goals, and preparing for the season ahead.  Be sure to engage your school administrators and teachers as you return to school, and look ahead to the ski season.  Preparation, not reaction, to the anticipated schedule needs of the winter is a big deal.

August is an important time for our team. Dryland training reminds us that success in winter is built long before the snow flies. It comes from showing up, working hard, supporting your teammates, and embracing the process. These are lessons that extend well beyond skiing and riding and are at the heart of what we hope every athlete takes away from their experience with SBSEF.

We also have a lot to look forward to this year. Our staff is busy preparing programs, training opportunities, events, and competitions, and we are excited to welcome both returning and new families to the SBSEF community. Whether an athlete is just beginning their competitive journey or pursuing goals at the highest levels of the sport, our commitment remains the same: provide an environment where young athletes can challenge themselves, grow as people, become great teammates, and develop a lifelong love of the mountains.

Thank you to our coaches, families, volunteers, donors, and our resort partners at Snowbird and Alta for everything you do to make this program possible. It takes an entire community to create the opportunities our athletes enjoy, and we are fortunate to have an exceptional one.

Enjoy the dog days of summer. Keep working hard, keep having fun, and get ready—winter will be here before we know it.

Dream Big. Work Hard.

Thanks to everyone who helped staff the top aid station on Hidden Peak for the Cirque Series race held at Snowbird on July 11th!  We had athletes from our Freeride, Alpine and Skimo teams passing out drinks and ringing cowbell for trail runners summiting the top!  Looking ahead, please join us on Thursday September 3 at 5:30pm for the annual team family BBQ at Sugarhouse Park Fabian Lakeside Pavillion.  On Sunday September 27 join us for a Wasatch Crest group mountain bike ride in support of the Kelly Brush Foundation!  Make a donation to KBF (via registration in PlayMetrics) and we will shuttle you to the start of this epic ride using team vehicles.  Details to come.
