SBSEF Gala

November 11, 2023 at the Cliff Lodge was an evening to remember for SBSEF! Almost 200 guests enjoyed an evening filled with friends, food, and music in shared support of SBSEF and the future of a new generation of winter athletes developing the life skills associated with success in all endeavors—including sportsmanship, teamwork, discipline, determination and commitment.

Healthy competition and laughter buzzed through the room during the live auction as attendees bid on packages like the mine tour, Jazz tickets, heli skiing with Powderbird, a preferred parking pass, and a Utes package for 4 hosted by Andy Philips, former Utes kicker and current SBSEF coach. At the culmination of the live auction, gala attendees raised their paddles to support SBSEF. 

The gala’s title sponsor, and SBSEF annual sponsor, Kühl and owner Kevin Boyle kicked off the paddle raise with two $10,000 paddle raises, each dedicated to Junior Bounous and Beat von Allmen. The SBSEF program and its commitment to the lifelong joy of skiing owe to the ingenuity and love of skiing of both of these men. SBSEF strives to carry on the legacy that Junior and Beat began. And the room felt the inspiration, raising funds that drove this to be the single largest day of fundraising in SBSEF history. 

This year's Gala exceeded our goal for SBSEF scholarships and programs; supporting the next generation of winter athletes in Little Cottonwood Canyon. We could not be more grateful for the enthusiasm at this Gala. Thank you to all those who attended, all those who made this night possible, and all those who continue to help SBSEF support athletes and coaches strive to foster a passion and lifelong love of winter sports and an active outdoor lifestyle.
