Greetings,

I know we’re all feeling the relentless heat and smoke that has become the norm for August in Utah. As we push through, it’s important to remember that cooler temperatures are on the horizon, and it’s time to focus on our fitness for the upcoming season. We’re just three months away from being back on snow, and there’s a lot planned for the next 90 days!

Dryland training is already underway for the U-19 group, with the foundational weight training program progressing well. Please update your availability in TeamSnap for September dryland sessions. We’ll be adding a Wednesday field day at Tanner Park. Based on the demand for Tuesday and Thursday gym sessions, we may need to extend or add to our training times.

For the U-15 and U-12 groups, dryland training kicks off next month. Please check and update your status on TeamSnap, and be aware that the ski team BBQ and Gear Night may affect start times or locations.

Regarding gear for the upcoming season, there might be a shortage of certain hard goods, especially in youth sizes. I recommend ordering and purchasing your gear by or before Team Fit Night at the Sports Den on September 5th. Additionally, all athletes should have a traditional carving or race ski for the upcoming season, which can be purchased during the SBSEF Ski Swap on September 21st.

Woodward training has been a blast, and we’ve loved watching the athletes’ progress over the past two months. Woodward Wednesdays will continue through the end of August, with our last session on August 28th. We’ll resume Woodward training once we’re back on snow in December. In the meantime, athletes with current memberships are encouraged to continue using the facility throughout the fall.

Stay positive, and we’ll be back on snow before we know it!

All the best,
Rob Greener
