With the addition of the new SBSEF gym, the UOP facility, Oakridge Elementary fields and multiple trails around the Wasatch range, dryland season is in full swing for most age groups. The objectives for this fall is strength and conditioning period are:

  • Develop flexibility, and stamina that will minimize the risk of injury.
  • Develop functional mobility and strength that lead to success on the hill.
  • Develop a positive team culture before the competition season. 

If you have not yet had the opportunity to come to dryland, all athletes are welcome anytime. Check with your head coach, and team snap to see specific details for each age group. 

SBSEF Dryland Camp (Oct 24-27). This is an annual event and always a great opportunity to go on some amazing hikes through some of Utah’s most surreal canyons. Space is limited to 50 people total. Make sure to register early. CLICK HERE for more information

SBSEF Tuning Clinics

Basics of ski tuning – Todd Herilla at 7even Skis will be hosting tuning clinics through the month of October and November until Thanksgiving. They will be every Wednesday from 6:30 – 8:30. As this is a hands-on session, each clinic is limited to 4 athletes. Sign up here

Fall Skills Quest Fitness test (Churchill Junior High – Nov 1st) – General physical fitness is a necessary component for elite ski and snowboard athletes. This falls SkillsQuest-Fitness assessment can help to identify potential performance deficits, as well as track long-term performance trends. Stay tuned for specific times and more information. 

Aspen Ski Camp

 The U16, U14, and JFAST team will be headed to Aspen Highlands for our fall camp right before Thanksgiving. For athletes competing in December this is a crucial block for athletes to get in and prepped. Aspen Highlands has historically been an awesome venue for athletes to get some really excellent technical freeskiing and gate training before the season starts. 

U16

  • Full Camp Nov 18 – 26, (4 days GS, 4 Days SL)
  • Short Camp Nov 21 – 26 (2 days GS, 4 days SL)

U14/U12

  • Full Camp Nov 21-26 (4 days GS, 2 days SL)

FIS:

  • Nov 1-9 NorAm and early season prep Winter Park (4 days GS, 4 days SL)
  • Nov 4-8 focused freeskiing and Return to snow (A Basin / Winter Park)
  • Nov 21 – Dec 2 Focused freeskiing (A Basin), Race prep (Aspen)
