2024-25 Season (July 1st - June 30th)
POSITION:
Reporting to the Head FIS Coach, this position is responsible for year-round coaching and management duties with the FIS Team. This position is also expected to assist in suggesting, developing, and implementing policies, programs, and goals as they relate to the FIS & Alpine Program at large. This position is also expected to assist in Program-wide and Club-wide projects and events as needed.
The position is year-round. The Off-season schedule varies and does have significant flexibility at times, Winter/In-season schedule is full-time and should expect six days per week. Travel required.
QUALIFICATIONS:
Experience coaching FIS-level athletes (FIS includes U19, U21, and PG)
Current USSA Coaching License & Certification Level 100 minimum
Strong working relationships with IMD, Western Region, and USSS
Excellent communication skills
Excellent leadership skills
Excellent organizational skills
PRIORITIES:
- Coaching the FIS Team
- Coordination and coaching of FIS Team Conditioning Programs
- Assist Alpine Program Director with events
- Assist with team-wide events as needed
RESPONSIBILITIES:
Athlete training, preparation, & administration

- Assist with the design and implementation of the athletic plan for the FIS program
- With Head FIS Coach
- Assist with FIS conditioning program (including in-season plan)
- Assist with the management of FIS athletes
- Assist with the management of FIS equipment
- Participate in on-snow training at all levels
- Participate in Divisional and Regional coaching projects as necessary or required
- Coordinate training and travel with other SBSEF departments/groups as necessary
- Communicate effectively with athletes, staff, and parents
- Utilize video review/archiving techniques online (Sprongo, Drive, etc.)
- Meet with athletes, coaches, and parents as needed
- Conduct pre and post-season athlete interviews (goals, schedules, plans, etc.)
- Post information via various the website and via email as appropriate
- Create athlete/FIS Team calendar
- Attend team-related meetings as necessary
- Prepare (with staff) athlete evaluations
- Attend end of year Awards Party
- Sept. - Nov. Maintain regular hours as agreed upon with Head FIS Coach and Alpine Program Director
- Participate in all FIS training camps as needed
- Assist with the design and implementation of the athletic plan for the FIS program
Travel

- (Help) organize and arrange logistics for FIS Team travel
- Create trip budgets and info sheets for travel, and serve as Team Captain unless otherwise designated
- Transport SBSEF athletes to races and projects
- After each trip direct athletes to properly clean-up interior of the vehicle (with athletes) & Fill out a Vehicle Log sheet after each trip
- Report all expenses (with receipts) to the Alpine Program Director, Administrator, and Bookkeeper
- Report all expenses (with receipts) to the Alpine Program Director and Bookkeeper
Equipment
- Maintain inventory records of all program-related equipment
- Repair and maintain equipment as necessary
Professional Development
- Review technical videos and publications
- Attend professional development courses/seminars to upgrade/update personal skills
- Assist Program Director with internal staff training
Off-Season
- Participate in off-season (May-August) SBSEF camps/projects as needed
- Assist Head FIS Coach with FIS conditioning program
- Assist with SBSEF-related work as needed

Reporting to the Head U16 Coach and/or Alpine Program Director, this position is dedicated to the U16 Team. All SBSEF coaches are also expected to help with program-wide matters as needed.
The position is part-time, November 1 - April 30. Winter schedule includes five days per week, Thursday – Monday. Travel may be required.
QUALIFICATIONS:
Experience coaching U16 level athletes
USSA Coaching Certification
Demonstrate an ability to communicate well with athletes
Demonstrate an ability to communicate well with staff
Demonstrate an ability to communicate well with parents
RESPONSIBILITIES:
Athlete training, preparation, & administration
- Adhere to the guidelines and policies of SBSEF as prescribed in the SBSEF Employee Handbook
- Be on time to prepare equipment (gates, timing, video) for each training session
- Support Head Coach and share coaching, course setting, course and track maintenance, video and timing responsibilities as directed by Head Coach
- Be available to lead free skiing sessions when necessary
- Communicate effectively with athletes, staff, and parents
- Utilize video review/archiving techniques online (Sprongo, Dropbox, etc.)
- Meet with athletes, coaches, and parents for program nights/explanations
- Assist with U16 conditioning sessions as needed
- Assist with equipment recommendations and maintenance for U16 athletes
- Administer goal setting and track each athlete’s goals and participate in athlete evaluation.
- Attend meetings as necessary
- Assist Alpine Program Director with events as needed
- Assist with Club wide events as needed
- Attend end of year Awards Banquet

The position is part-time, November 1 - April 30. Winter schedule includes five days per week, Wednesday – Friday & Saturday – Sunday. Travel may be required.
QUALIFICATIONS:

- Demonstrate an ability to communicate well with staff
- Demonstrate an ability to communicate well with parents
RESPONSIBILITIES:

The position is part-time, December 1 - April 15.
Winter schedule includes up to five days per week. Travel may be required.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Experience coaching JFast level athletes
- USSA Coaching Certification
- Demonstrate an ability to communicate well with athletes
- Demonstrate an ability to communicate well with staff
- Demonstrate an ability to communicate well with parents
RESPONSIBILITIES:
Athlete training, preparation, & administration

POSITION:
Reporting to the Devo Director/Head Coach and/or Alpine Program Director, this position is dedicated to the Devo Team. Any and all SBSEF coaches are also expected to help with program-wide matters as needed.
The position is part-time, December 1 - April 30. Generally 1-2 days per week (weekends), with the possibility of additional sessions.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Experience coaching Devo-level athletes (U8-U12)
- USSA Coaching Certification
- Demonstrate an ability to communicate well with athletes
- Demonstrate an ability to communicate well with staff
- Demonstrate an ability to communicate well with parents
RESPONSIBILITIES:
Athlete training, preparation, & administration
- Be on time and prepared for each training session!
- Support Head Coach and share coaching, course setting, maintenance, video and timing responsibilities as directed by Head Coach
- Be prepared to lead group free-skiing and technical skiing sessions.
- Communicate effectively with athletes, staff, and parents
- Utilize video review/archiving techniques online (Sprongo, Dropbox, etc.)
- Attend meetings as necessary
- Attend end-of-year Awards

Winter schedule includes up to six days per week, Travel required.

Experience coaching Freeride athletes
USSA Coaching Certification (preferred)
IFSA Level 100 Certification
Demonstrate an ability to communicate well with athletes
Demonstrate an ability to communicate well with staff
Demonstrate an ability to communicate well with parents
RESPONSIBILITIES:
Athlete training, preparation, & administration
- Be on time to prepare equipment (gates, timing, video) for each training session
- Support Head Coach and share coaching, course setting, course and track maintenance, video and timing responsibilities as directed by Head Coach
- Be available to lead free-skiing sessions when necessary
- Communicate effectively with athletes, staff, and parents
