Ben Reeder
Head Coach - U14
Ski racing for Ben Reeder was motivated by watching Tommy Moe win Olympic Gold in the downhill in Lillehammer Norway. He started racing at Sundance, then moved to the Snowbird Ski Team in high school. There he competed in NorAm speed event competitions and was named Snowbird Skier of the Year in 2001. He raced college at Colorado Mountain College and was the USCSA Western Region Champion, before moving on to race NCAA Division I at Western State University.
After racing, Ben began his coaching career as the assistant coach for the Western State University Ski Team in Gunnison, Colorado, before graduating in the Environmental Studies program. Afterward, he accepted a job as the head F.I.S. Coach in Big Bear, California for 2 seasons. While in grad school at the University of Utah, Ben was an assistant coach for the F.I.S. Team at Snowbird. Upon graduation from the Environmental Humanities program, Ben was the Head F.I.S. Coach at Mammoth Mountain, California for 2 years before returning back to the Snowbird Ski Team.
Ben was more than happy to return to his stomping grounds and to be sharing his knowledge with the next generation. Accepting the job as the head U14 Coach at Snowbird in 2014, Ben hopes to share what he learned from his former coaches and experience ski racing, sharing the life long love of skiing.
