Snowboard January Update
Para/NorAm

We arrived in Kühtai, Austria after a long day of travel and are finally settled into the mountains. Before heading overseas, we were lucky enough to spend a week in Utah riding fresh powder, which everyone really enjoyed and definitely fueled the stoke going into this next stretch. After taking a day to recover and reset from travel, we’re back on snow with two full days of training as we get ready for the upcoming races.
We’ll then jump into two days of World Cup banked slalom competition here in Kühtai before packing up and heading to Lenk, Switzerland. Once there, we’ll have two more days of training, followed by two days of World Cup snowboardcross racing.
All of the athletes are focused on putting together strong results as they work toward qualifying for the Paralympic Games this March in Cortina, Italy. Getting to travel, train, and compete in so many incredible places is something we don’t take for granted. We spend so much time on the road together that this team truly becomes a family, pushing and supporting one another every step of the way.

Big Mtn
The Snowboard Big Mountain Team got a ton of training in December despite the lack of snow. We rip icy moguls all day. The end of December rolling into January has been amazing. Once the snow turned on, the whole team started to send it. We’ve had a good time hunting those early season trophy lines around The Bird, and trying some new tricks along the way. A couple of our riders will be starting off the competition season with the Jackson Hole National at the end of the month. Most of us are either new to freeride, or aged up to a new division. Time to see if all the icy days paid off. – Coach Miles
Dev Team
The snowboard Development Team members are prepping for their first ever Big Mountain Freeride event at Snowbasin on Feb 8! We have begun discussing how a big mountain event is coached and how we can incorporate that into our training. We will begin doing mock trials this month to prep them for how it will be when they get there. I am proud of these guys for their willingness and enthusiasm, regardless of their fears. One of our athletes, Jhulian, has begun riding a lot faster in the powder which has been great to see. Special shout out to another one of our athletes, Arra for doing her first REAL (no tap) indie grab on a side hit!
