Alpine October Update
Snowbird Alpine team’s dryland training programs are in full swing, with athletes fully engaged and working hard in preparation for the upcoming winter.
Utilization of our key facilities—the team gym, the UOP facility, the Oakridge Elementary fields, and various trails around the Wasatch range—has been extremely beneficial in maximizing athlete development.
The core objectives for this fall strength and conditioning period are clear and focused:
- Injury prevention: Developing the flexibility and stamina needed to minimize the risk of injury.
- Performance-focused: Building functional mobility and strength that will directly lead to success on the hill.
- Team Cohesion: Fostering a positive team culture before the competition season officially begins.
Get Involved! If your athlete has not yet had the opportunity to attend dryland, all athletes are welcome at any time. Please have them check with their head coach and Team Snap to find specific details and schedules for each age group.
The Snow is Coming / Here! The season is rapidly approaching! We’ve already seen snow fall at the top of Hidden Peak, and fall ski camps are being finalized.
Our athletes recently returned from a very successful 10-day camp in Italy. Looking ahead, the First World Cup in Sölden is less than 10 days away, and in about a month, athletes will be traveling to Colorado for crucial early-season training.
Using this last little bit of the shoulder season to get stronger and dial in equipment is paramount to success this year. We look forward to a fantastic and productive season!
SBSEF returns from Stelvio!
The SBSEF athletes are back after an incredibly successful training camp in Italy! Stelvio Pass, situated at a stunning 12,000 feet, provided 10 days of fantastic winter conditions. The group focused on 6 days of Giant Slalom and 4 days of Slalom. Training alongside elite athletes from across Europe gave our team an amazing opportunity. Beyond the invaluable on-snow experience, they also got to take in the Italian Alps and check out Bormio, the venue for the 2026 Men’s Olympic Alpine events. All in all, this was an invaluable and memorable training experience!
