September 2025 Team Update
Greetings SBSEF,
It was great to see so many of you at our annual Sugarhouse team BBQ earlier this month! Huge thanks to the Board members who came out to work the hot grills and make sure everyone was fed. The BBQ always feels like the official start to a new season.
Things are in full swing around the organization with many events on the horizon. The fall is a wonderful time in the Wasatch. With the temps cooling off it’s one of the very best times to enjoy the outdoors while gearing up for the upcoming ski season. Conditioning activities like trail running, hiking, and strength training help build endurance, core strength, and stability—key components for skiing performance and injury prevention. Taking advantage of the mild weather not only makes training more enjoyable but also helps establish a solid fitness foundation before the snow starts to fall. It’s a season of preparation and anticipation, with the excitement of winter just around the corner.
The coaches have been leading dryland sessions on a nearly daily basis, and solidifying plans for the season. At the same time, infrastructure improvements at Snowbird continue, with both snow making additions, and the completion of the restaurant “The Nest” on schedule for this winter. This should help greatly with skier flow in Gad Valley.
Next up is the Swap this weekend, another fun and important event for the team. The swap is perfect for rounding out your gear for the season by filling in the gaps with some great deals, and maybe even selling some gear as well.
This year we will be heading to City of Rocks for the first time in a long time. It will be a little cooler than Canyonlands, but should offer some spectacular scenery and all the colors of fall for a weekend of camping and hiking. I know I am very much looking forward to the trip!
See you soon!
Work Hard. Dream Big.
