Hello SBSEF,

The season is underway, and for some groups, the competition season has already begun.  There have been World Cup events in Europe at Solden, Levi, and Gurgl, then kicked off in the US at Killington, and currently, the World Cup is at Beaver Creek.

The early part of the season is typically low tide in the Wasatch, this is no exception.  The snow will come, it always does.  In the meantime, it is important to be careful with limited terrain and coverage, there are many hazards.  We want to do our best to make sure everyone has a full season!  We must return the support we receive from Snowbird and Alta by being great ambassadors for the mountain and team.  This includes following the rules of the road and posted signs, observing slow skiing areas, always skiing in control, and maintaining a safe distance to others.  And of course, being kind and courteous!

This block of training in the early season is perfect for focusing on technical skills, muscle memory, and tactical concepts.  So, even though we dream of skiing the whole mountain, this time of year sets the stage for success down the road.

Holiday Camp is always productive and a lot of fun, it is one of the few times during the season when the whole team is in town.  There is a lot of volume and content during this time.  Eating well, staying hydrated, and getting plenty of sleep is critical to getting the most out of it.

I look forward to seeing everyone up here.

Happy Holidays & Think Snow!

Work Hard, Dream Big!
