April 2025 Team Update
Greetings SBSEF,
The 2024-25 season has come to a close. It is time to celebrate the season that was, and recognize the hard work and accomplishments of our athletes.
I would like to also thank the donors, sponsors, partners, and volunteers. The community around this organization is thriving. The turnout for events, the donations of time, energy, and resources to the team are incredible. It takes an army as the saying goes, YOU are that army. It is an honor to be a part of this shared journey.
As SBSEF athletes were finishing up the competition season in various locations, many in California for both Alpine and Freeride, we had beautiful sunny weather on the homefront for both the Snow Cup, and then last weekend for ski testing and the Duals/BBQ. Of course we love it when it is dumping snow in the winter, but the sunshine is ideal for the last couple of event weekends, which always feel like a celebration. It was a lot of fun to see so many of you out there on Sunday. HUGE thank you to the BOD who showed up and cooked burgers for 3 hours!
The saying “Greatest Snow on Earth” rings true again in 2025, as we have eclipsed 500 inches for the 3rd year in a row. Although the snow is melting pretty quickly now, we will be able to train on the upper mountain in May.
Our attention now shifts almost completely to plans and preparations for the 2025-26 season, marching forward with the seasons.
Thank you all for a wonderful season!
Work Hard. Dream Big
SBSEF Executive Director

May Camp Links:
We have several training opportunities for our SBSEF athletes this Spring. Please click on the links below.
Athletes transitioning to a new age classification are encouraged to participate in May camps to familiarize themselves with new coaches and teammates. Training will be conducted with the athlete’s respective age group for the upcoming season.
These links are for team members only, please. We have sent links to Guests on our Alpine waitlist, let us know if you cannot locate your invitation link.
Registration Update:
Registration for returning team members will start June 1, 2025. Please watch your email inbox for your link to register for next season. All returning team members must be registered by June 14.
Siblings interested in joining the team must be on the waitlist so we have an accurate count. We will accommodate siblings to the best of our ability, but siblings must meet our team’s expectations. Freeride requires a tryout for everyone joining, links have been sent out to sign up for a freeride tryout to all on the waitlist.
Payment Plans: Be sure to take advantage of our interest-free payment options during open registration. CAREFULLY review these options before you check out.
Tuition Insurance: We highly recommend tuition insurance in the event your athlete has a season-ending injury, you experience an unexpected move, etc, and can no longer participate on our team. We do not offer refunds, so review our financial policy carefully during your registration.
Waitlist Information:
Devos: Once we have determined how many openings we have on our Devo team, we will conduct a lottery of all on the Devo waitlist. You will receive an email with a link to register, or an email explaining where you are on the lottery list. We will work down the list throughout the end of June
Alpine Jfast, U14 & U16: Once we have determined how many openings we have, we will offer them to those coming from other ski teams with race experience, and move down the list. You will receive an email with a link to register, or an email explaining where you are on the waitlist.
Freeride: Once we have determined how many openings we have on each Freeride team, you will receive an email based on your tryout evaluation. We will go down the list of ranked athletes until we are full.
Snowboard: We will send out registration links to those on the waitlist after our team registration period has concluded.
Skimo: Open registration will start June 1.
Sponsorships:
SBSEF is defined by the excellence, success and accomplishment of winter athletes in LCC because of the support of sponsors and donors. Do you have or know a company that wants to support our team and athletes? Have your logo shared at Snowbird and beyond. We are taking a look at sponsors and sponsorships for our 2025-26 season. This includes jacket sponsors (logo on the back of team jackets), team sponsors, and race-specific sponsors. Please let us know if you or a friend/family member is interested at development@sbsef.com for more information.
210 Photography:
We are so lucky to have 210 Photography photograph all of our alpine and freeride events at Snowbird, including the fun Duals & BBQ last weekend! Click on their logo to go directly to the comp site and check out the photos!
