Alpine Teams
Our alpine teams focus on racing tactics as well as all-mountain skiing in Little Cottonwood Canyon.
We start at age 7, and progress through FIS. We also offer training opportunities for Masters athletes.
See below about our teams:
Alpine Devos
The Devo team is the youngest age class program in SBSEF, offering an introduction to alpine ski racing and all-mountain skiing. The goal of this program is to provide an enjoyable learning opportunity for young skiers while improving their skiing skills and meeting other young skiers. Devo athletes develop a love for skiing while learning to ski in all-mountain terrain and snow conditions. Snowbird’s diverse mountain paired with technical coaching and race training provides young skiers with a well-rounded experience.
Athlete Age: 7-11 (2017, 2016, 20015, 2014, 2013)
Jfast Team
The Jfast - South Series Team is designed to develop confident and accomplished skiers that have the technical and tactical ability to ski anywhere at Snowbird. The Jfast team provides age and developmentally appropriate opportunities for young athletes to expand on the technical racing skills that they earned while on the Devo team.
Athlete Age: 9-13 (2012, 2013, 2014, 2015 *2016 with coach recommendation)
U14 IMD Team
The U14 Team is designed to develop technical racing and all-mountain skills. Athletes joining the U14 team must be excellent skiers, able to handle all terrain at Snowbird in all conditions. Racing experience is highly recommended.
Athlete age: 12 & 13 (2011-2012)
U16 Team
The U16 IMC team is designed to develop all-mountain skills as well as technical racing skills for the competitive athlete. This program is designed around the individual needs of each athlete to enable them to pursue their own goals. We realize our athletes have different goals and priorities, and we strive to accommodate all levels of athlete commitment, from the two-day weekend USSA competitor focused on improving skills and competing locally, to the full-time five-day per week racer.
Athlete Age: 14-15 (2009-2010)
FIS Team
The FIS Teams are comprehensive competition programs that offer our athletes the opportunity to be involved and managed year-round. These programs are designed around the individual needs of each athlete to enable them to pursue their own personal goals. We realize our athletes have different goals and priorities, and we strive to accommodate all levels of athlete commitment, from the two-day weekend divisional competitor focused on improving skills and competing locally, to the full-time six-day per-week FIS racer pursuing regional, national, and international competitions, with the goal of competing for an NCAA or USCSA College team or the US Ski Team. We advise each athlete and structure their own individualized training and racing schedule based on their academic and athletic goals.
Athlete Age: 16+ (2008 and older)
Masters Training
We offer Masters gate training with our FIS team athletes. Several new packages are available for 2023-24.

Registration for new team members for the 2024-25 season
Our team capacity is determined by multiple factors, including the volume of skiers and riders the resorts in Little Cottonwood can host. For the 2024-25 season, we will host pre-registration for our returning team members. Open spots will then be determined per team, and waiting lists will be populated. More information will be shared as it becomes available.
