Hi! I’m Mark, and I’m originally from Truckee, California. I grew up ski racing at Alpine Meadows and Sugar Bowl. I made the U.S. Ski Team at age 19, and competed with them for a total of 6 years, culminating in qualifying for the 2018 Olympics in slalom! I have since retired from competition, and I’m now in my senior year at the University of Utah, where I’m studying psychology with a certificate of applied positive psychology. Right now, I’m just trying to take it easy, be a part of a community of people that love the outdoors, and figure out the next steps to take in life. I’m interested in coaching, clinical psychology, sports psychology, back-country skiing, and wilderness therapy. I’m hoping to get some experience in each of those areas this year, and see where each of them takes me! Here at Snowbird, I want to use my background as an athlete, and my interest in psychology to help create an environment where skiing is fun, positivity is valued, and communication is open. I’m looking forward to having a fun year of skiing, and looking forward to learning from my awesome co-staff, Anna, Jeremy, and Fritz!
